Sonia Daniel Brown and Amy Jane Beaux and were married June 22. The Rev. Jacqueline J. Lewis, a Presbyterian minister, officiated at Frankies 457 Spuntino, a restaurant in Brooklyn.

Mx. Brown (left), 38, who legally changed her surname, prefers to use a gender-nonspecific honorific and pronouns. Mx. Brown is a sales agent in Manhattan on Ryan Serhant’s team at Nest Seekers, a residential real estate brokerage, and is also a songwriter and musician. In April, Mx. Brown performed at the Earth Day show at the Wyckoff Bond Garden in Brooklyn.

Mx. Brown’s parents are Plia Dees of Mobile, Ala., and Edward L. Preston of Miami. Mx. Brown’s father retired from the Exxon Mobil Corporation, the oil company, as the project manager for information systems in the Caribbean and Central America; he worked in Miami. Mx. Brown’s mother is a pianist and cellist who performs privately at weddings and holiday events, and is also a piano teacher and the president of the Mobile Chamber Music Society, both in Mobile.

Ms. Beaux, 38, is a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, the New York law firm. She graduated from Utah State University, received a master’s degree in music therapy from N.Y.U., and received a law degree from the University of Chicago.

She is a daughter of Raylene A. Solheim of Mesa, Ariz., and Mark A. Hinckley of Lindon, Utah. Ms. Beaux’s father is a software engineer at Venafi, a cybersecurity company in Salt Lake City. Her mother is a foot-zone therapy practitioner.
