Allen C. Engerman, 1934 - 2022

Allen C. Engerman, died peacefully on September 28 in Reseda, CA. Born in Chicago in 1934 to Dr. Max Engerman and Dorothy Hirsch Engerman, Allen was an ace student graduating from University High School and then attaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and his JD from the University of Chicago. During this time he served in the Air Force reserves. Upon graduating law school, Allen joined the Cook County prosecutor's office successfully prosecuting organized and street crime. Subsequently he entered private practice as a corporate litigator where he specialized in complex litigation. Ultimately, he formed his own firm where he helped launch Oprah Winfrey's syndicated talk show and advanced copyright infringement litigation against popular musicians the Bee Gees, representing a local Chicago musician. Allen finished his legal career by founding a company that audited and recovered retirement funds on behalf of retirees on fixed incomes with limited means.
