Judge Menashi graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College. He then attended Stanford Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as the Senior Articles Editor of the Stanford Law Review. In 2019, Judge Menashi was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Prior to serving on the Second Circuit, Judge Menashi worked in both the public and private sectors. He clerked for Judge Ginsburg on the D.C. Court of Appeals and for Justice Alito on the United States Supreme Court. Judge Menashi served as special assistant counsel to President Donald Trump and as the acting general counsel for the U.S. Department of Education. He was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis’ New York office where he practiced appellate and commercial litigation. Additionally, Judge Menashi taught civil procedure and administrative law as an Assistant Professor of Law at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.
