11/11

Open to the public

What is the relationship between sex, drugs and public health? What role do human rights play in mediating this relationship? Do our moral intuitions align with what's best from a public health perspective? What should we expect from judges and policy makers?

Join us for a discussion with Anand Grover, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health (2008-14), Senior Advocate on the Supreme Court of India, Executive Director of the HIV/AIDS Unit, Lawyers Collective (Delhi/Mumbai) and Brian Citro, Clinical Lecturer in Law and Associate Director of the International Human Rights Clinic. Grover has litigated dozens of cases in the Supreme Court and High Courts of India, involving issues ranging from LGBT rigths to access to medicines, from mandatory death sentences for drug possession to complex developments in intellectual property law. Grover will discuss his vast litigation experience, as well as his work as UN Special Rapporteur promoting a human rights-based approach to health at the global level. Clinical Professor Claudia Flores will introduce the event.
