Widespread corruption undermines the rule of the law which is one of the cornerstones of democracy. It also affects the efficiency of the economy and the chances for sustainable growth in development countries. Operation Car Wash represented a game-changer in  Brazil, bringing to an end decades of impunity for grand corruption. In the last years, the efforts against corruption suffered setbacks in Brazil. How could it be possible to advance the fight against corruption in a corrupted political environment? How could we relate the fight against corruption with the rule of law, and in doing so, avoid the capture of the cause by populists? What is the role of the private sector and the world community in the fight against corruption?

Take away lunches will be provided after the event.
