Judge Stephanos Bibas is a Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Before his appointment, Judge Bibas was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he wrote extensively on criminal justice, including the books The Machinery of Justice and Rebooting Justice. Before that, he taught at the University of Chicago and was an Assistant US Attorney. Judge Bibas began his career by clerking for Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the Fifth Circuit and Justice Anthony Kennedy of the Supreme Court. Judge Bibas received a Bachelors from Columbia, a Bachelors and masters from Oxford, and a JD from Yale.
