Policy's Purse Strings – Criminal Justice Reform and the Role of Financial Incentives
Michelle Mbekeani, ’14, is the Senior Legal & Policy Advisor for Justice Reform in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Throughout her legal career, she has focused on police reform, voting rights, and criminal justice reform. She has authored and successfully lobbied legislation in Illinois, two of which were first of its kind in the United States.
