Michael Rappaport earned his JD from Yale Law School. After law school, he clerked for Judge Sloviter of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to becoming a professor, he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice and practiced appellate law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Washington, DC. Currently, Professor Rappaport is the Hugh and Hazel Darling Foundation Professor of Law and Director of the Center for the Study of Constitutional Originalism at the University of San Diego School of Law. He is also the founder of the Originalism Blog and has published extensively on original methods originalism.
Lawrence Solum earned his JD from Harvard Law School. After law school, he worked for the law firm of Cravath, Swaine, and Moore in New York. Then, he clerked for Judge William A. Norris of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Professor Solum is currently the William L. Matheson and Robert M. Morgenthau Distinguished Professor of Law and Douglas D. Drysdale Research Professor of Law at the University of Virginia Law School. His series of articles on constitutional originalism have shaped contemporary thinking about the debate between originalism and constitutional theory.
