Neighbors Community Service Organization Informational Lunch Talk

10/7

Open to the public

Come hear about the Neighbors community service organization at lunch on Thursday, October 7th in Room I and learn about our programs and other opportunities to get involved! Lunch will be provided!

Neighbors partners with Carnegie Elementary School and Kenwood Academy High School in Hyde Park to put on weekly programs and special events that connect law students with middle and high school students in our community. We have several programs, from mentoring and tutoring to drama, mock trial, and scholarship workshops that allow law students to use their skills and interests to contribute to learning in Hyde Park.

Why:
•    It’s fun. ☺ Middle schoolers (and high schoolers) are awesome—and funny.
•    It’s necessary and helps others. Kids need mentorship, role models, and opportunities like the ones we provide. You can be an important part of this.
•    It feels good. Law school can leave you feeling a bit too focused on yourself—it’s nice to be a part of a community service organization and do something for other people. ☺
•    It provides perspective. It’s wonderful what getting away from case books can do for your understanding of the material and your appreciation of law school.
•    Did I mention it’s fun?
AND- there’s flexibility. We’d love to have you join us whenever you can. Feel free to sign up and try it out.
