For much of the past three years, Jonathan Meyer served as the General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, he confronted regular crises facing an embattled department: an assassination attempt against a former president and leading presidential candidate, an impeachment attempt against the secretary, executive tools used to deal with immigration, legal issues pertaining to disaster response with FEMA and surrounding national security threats to America's critical infrastructure. JLSA invites you to hear Jon's perspective on all of this and his repeated desire to work in public service. Mr. Meyer has had an illustrious career in public service, serving in the Justice Department, as counsel to then-Senator Joe Biden, as Special Deputy General Counsel of Amtrak, as well as Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security in both the Obama and Biden administrations. Because we will be bringing in Kosher food, we ask that you RSVP to get an accurate head count.
