Please join us for a lunch and candid conversation with Eric Hattler '93, Managing Director & General Counsel of The Gores Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity group.

Eric joined Gores in 1998, and is responsible for overseeing the negotiation and execution of Gores' acquisition, divestiture and joint venture transactions. During his time at Gores, the firm has grown from being self-financed and focusing primarily on technology businesses to having raised four private equity funds with over $4.1 billion in capital commitments with investments in a broad array of industries, including automotive, telecommunications, health care, building materials and food. From 1993 to 1998, Eric was an associate at Riordan & McKinzie (now part of Morgan Lewis), a Los Angeles-based law firm, where he represented private equity groups and emerging growth companies. From 1988 to 1989, Eric served as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney, focusing on business operational issues. Eric earned a B.A. degree from Amherst College, and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Chicago. Eric has lectured at UCLA School of Law, UCLA Anderson School of Management and USC Marshall School of Business.
