When two daughters of the South, Director Frances Causey and Producer Sally Holst,set out to understand the causes for the continuing racial divisions in the United States, they learned how the politics of slavery continued after the Civil War.

This screening of The Long Shadow is cosponsored by the Human Rights Law Society, Black Law Students Association, Vincent Gambini Society, Law School International Programs, Black Action in Public Policy Studies, and Minorities in Public Policy Studies. The screening is followed by a discussion led by Professor Cathy Cohen, David and Mary Winton Green Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago. Two strategic partners of Director Causey, Sharon Hatchett and Amania Drane of Together is Better Alliance, will join the discussion.
