Jeanne Bishop is a Cook County Public Defender and professor at Northwestern Law School. Ms. Bishop is the sister of Nancy Bishop Langert, who was shot to death in 1990, along with her husband and their unborn child. Since the murders of her family members, Ms. Bishop has been a prominent advocate for gun violence prevention, abolition of the death penalty, criminal justice reform, and the role of faith in the debate over executions. Ms. Bishop will share her personal story, her experiences as a public defender, and how her Christian faith has impacted her career.
