Domestic and Sexual Violence Project: Pro Bono Training
Room F
1111 East 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637
If you are looking to get your pro bono hours fulfilled, consider joining the Domestic and Sexual Violence Project’s Pro Bono League. DSVP has a partnership with Metropolitan Family Services that allows students with their 711 to represent clients in Order of Protections. Under the supervising attorney, you will conduct intakes, draft the petitions, and step up in front of the judge in court for the hearing. It is an excellent opportunity to get court experience, pro bono hours, and help survivors of domestic violence gain access to the judicial system.
Training counts toward your pro bono hours.
Note:
2Ls won’t be eligible until Spring Quarter. However, we encourage you to take the training in the fall if you are interested in participating. The training covers the remainder of your time in law school.
1Ls are also encouraged to attend this event, but it is not mandatory to become a 1L Shadow.
