A panel conversation with State Senator Robert Peters, Sharlyn Grace, and Sharone Mitchell

Senator Robert Peters is a member of the Illinois Senate for the 13th District and is the chair of the Illinois Senate Black Caucus. Before he was appointed to the Senate seat, he worked as an organizer and in politics in Chicago. Sharlyn Grace is a founding member of the Chicago Community Bond Fund and most recently served as its Executive Director. Sharone Mitchell is the Director of the Illinois Justice Project and a former public defender. All three worked to help pass the Pretrial Fairness Act, a landmark bill that abolished cash bail in Illinois and improved pretrial protections for those detained pretrial. Please join us for a conversation on the process of passing the act and the impact it will have in Illinois.
