The Culmination of Social Activism and Political Change

2/26

Open to the public

Recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the approaching 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, this event reflects on acts of social activism and instances of impact litigation that culminated in robust policy changes. Our two guest panelists, Jean Denton-Thompson and Flint Taylor have extensive histories challenging the status quo through their respective roles as a civil rights activist and litigator. They will be interviewed by Laura Washington, Chicago Sun-Times columnist, ABC-7 political analyst, and Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago Fellow.
Presented by Minorities in Public Policy Studies at Chicago Harris, the Black Law Students Association at the University of Chicago Law School, and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs Allocation Board. Please join us for an opportunity to discuss ways the University of Chicago community may substantively affect change.
This event is free and open to the public, space is limited.
