Alec Karakatsanis is the founder and executive director of Civil Rights Corps, an impact litigation nonprofit challenging unfair money bail practices. In 2016, he was awarded the Stephen B. Bright Award by Gideon's Promise and the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award by Public Justice. Alec will discuss his recent and ongoing efforts to challenge unfair monetary bail practices in jurisdictions across the country as well as the general state of criminal justice reform.
