This is the 3rd in a series of five lunch talks on International Arbitration offered during the 2018 - 2019 academic year. The series covers the following topics:

Dr. Johannes P. Willheim is an internationally trained disputes lawyer, mediator and professional negotiator. He is a partner of the Global Disputes Practice as well as of the Energy Practice of Jones Day.

Johannes  has over 20 years of experience in advising clients in how to best prevent, manage and resolve disputes as well as in representing and defending parties in administrative (regulatory), arbitration, court and mediation proceedings around the globe. Johannes is frequently appointed as an arbitrator and independent expert in AAA, DIS, ICC, VIAC, and other institutional as well as ad hoc arbitration proceedings. He also assists parties in the consensual resolution of business disputes either as mediator or professional negotiator.

Johannes has published extensively on various subjects relating to disputes resolution. He is an Adjunct Professor for International Commercial Arbitration of the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Law School of Pepperdine University and lectures on international arbitration in leading academic programs around the globe. He is a frequent speaker at legal and industry conferences.

Johannes is a graduate of the Law School (LL.M. 2004). In addition he holds legal degrees from the Law School of the University of Vienna, Austria (Mag. iur. and Dr. iur.), the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (M.B.L.-HSG) and King’s College London, UK (PG Diploma in EU Competition Law).
