Corporate Lab Speaker Series

The Kirkland & Ellis Corporate Lab hosts an ongoing speaker series throughout the academic year, bringing to campus experienced practitioners, business leaders, and other esteemed guests to discuss topical business-and-law issues, the practical aspects of particular substantive areas of law, and other topics of interest to the speakers and students.

Marcus Fruchter, the Administrator of the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB), spoke to students about his role in leading the regulatory and law enforcement agency that oversees Illinois’ multibillion-dollar gaming industry.  Fruchter discussed his experience overseeing the launch of Illinois' sports wagering industry and the opening of new casinos and video gaming locations in the state.

Forrest Deegan, the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for Victoria's Secret & Co., presented to students on the evolving field of corporate compliance. Deegan highlighted the most important elements of a corporate compliance program and shared key lessons and takeaways from his personal experience creating and implementing corporate cultures of compliance.
