Jason Gelbort

Jason Gelbort is a legal advisor to ethnic nationality organizations in Burma/Myanmar. He specializes in ceasefire and peace negotiations, international human rights, and constitutional change. Since 2013, he has worked full-time assisting diverse stakeholders’ ceasefire and peace negotiations, consensus-building, and human rights advocacy. He is the founder and executive director of Upland Advisors, a not-for-profit organization that supports sustainable peacebuilding initiatives by providing trusted advice and educational support on strategy, policy, and law-related matters.

Jason has previously worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors in Thailand, Vietnam, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Turkey, and the United States. He earned a JD from Harvard Law School, an MALD from The Fletcher School, and an AB from Brown University.
