Admissions History of the Law School

The Law School has always admitted students of all races, religions, creeds, ethnicities and genders. The first woman to graduate from the Law School was Sophonisba Breckinridge, who graduated with the first full class in 1904. Earl Dickerson, the first African American graduate of the Law School, received his degree in 1920, having entered in 1915 but taken time off to serve in World War I.
