Supreme Court Nominee Elena Kagan's Chicago Ties

Elena Kagan’s experience in the court began in Chicago as a clerk for one of the Windy City’s most famous and influential judges Abner J. Mikva. Then, she joined the University of Chicago law school. There she taught for four years in the 1990s. We call upon Geoffrey Stone—a University of Chicago professor—to tell us more about how those experiences on the South Side might have shaped the Supreme Court nominee’s tone and opinion.
