Randolph Stone to Receive BPI Champion of the Public Interest Award

Randolph Stone, Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School, will receive a "Champion of the Public Interest" award from Business and Professional People in the Public Interest (BPI) on April 29, 2008. Stone is one of three recipients of the award. He is being honored for his service to the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic since 1991, both as a clinic attorney and faculty member and as the Director of the Clinic for ten years. He is also being honored for his service as Cook County Public Defender, deputy director of the District of Columbia Public Defender Office, and staff attorney for the Criminal Defense Consortium of Chicago.

 

The dinner honoring Professor Stone will take place at the Fairmont Chicago, 200 North Columbus Drive, Chicago, at 5:30 pm on Tuesday April 29, 2008. The keynote speaker will be James Forman, Jr. , and the other honorees are Sunny Fisher of the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, and Mike Koldyke of the Golden Apple Foundation and the Academy for Urban School Leadership.
