Steve Cherny received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. in 1987 and his JD from the University of Chicago in 1991. Steve has tried some of the largest patent cases before the Federal Courts and the International Trade Commission including the landmark Bard v Gore case which is one of the largest civil judgments ever collected (currently over 1 billion dollars) and Innovatio v Cisco which is recognized as the pioneering case in the area of identifying and valuing standards essential patents. He writes and lectures widely on current intellectual property issues.
