Tom Ginsburg Named Winner of Prize for Public Policy Impact in Constitutional Studies
Professor Tom Ginsburg has been named the winner of the Prize for Public Policy Impact in Constitutional Studies.
This prize, which recognizes a scholar whose academic research and work have made a significant, practical impact on real-world public policy, legal structures, and governance, was awarded jointly by the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism and the Constitutional Studies Program at the University of Texas at Austin.
Ginsburg, the Leo Spitz Distinguished Service Professor of International Law, Ludwig and Hilde Wolf Research Scholar, and Professor of Political Science, is the faculty director, of the Law School's Malyi Center for the Study of Institutional and Legal Integrity and UChicago's Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression. He is the author of the 2021 book Democracies and International Law. His prior books include How to Save a Constitutional Democracy, written with Aziz Z. Huq, Judicial Review in New Democracies, The Endurance of National Constitutions, written with Zachary Elkins and James Melton, and Judicial Reputation, written with Nuno Garoupa.
Ginsburg will receive the prize at the 2027 Global Summit on Constitutionalism at UT Austin, March 17–19, 2027.
