Health Law Society

The Health Law Society seeks to educate students about topics relating to law and healthcare. It is designed to provide information to students with a casual interest as well as those considering a specialty in health law. HLS allows students to gather more information about the timely topic, and utilize the organization's resources to network within and beyond the campus. The organization was created in the Spring of 2009. Consequently, all members play an active role in shaping the goals of the organization and upcoming events. Events currently being planned include: lectures discussing various fields in health law as well as panel discussions emphasizing the intersection between health and law (including but not limited to: bioethics;  intellectual property and furthering healthcare development; Universities Allied for Essential Medicines- access to essential medicines and law’s role in it;  healthcare regulatory rules – e.g. ERISA, HIPAA;  compliance; privacy; healthcare reform; etc.).
