American Constitution Society
The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is a national, nonprofit organization comprised of students, judges, legal scholars, and practicing lawyers who view the law as an important mechanism governing the relationships among the individuals and institutions that form our society. The ACS considers central to the law, public policy, and the broader political debate, a view of justice that is circumscribed by respect for human dignity, protection of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality and access to justice. The ACS is dedicated to the maintaining a rigorous exchange of ideas about the law with a focus on its effects on the lives of ordinary people. The University of Chicago Law School Chapter of the ACS is open to all students, faculty, staff, and friends. Through a variety of organized events, including formal and informal speaking events and debates, the Law School's ACS Chapter is committed to promoting an open dialogue about these ideas.
