Loop Luncheon featuring Randal C. Picker, ’85, James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor of Law

Please join us as we officially kick off Reunion Weekend at this downtown luncheon, where Professor Picker will present “Teaching Law Today: The Socratic Method Meets Clickers, Blogs and MOOCs” followed by a question-and-answer session.

2:30-4:00 p.m. Gallery Tour of the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago

Explore the world-renowned Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago during this docent-led tour of one of the city of Chicago’s great cultural institutions. Space is limited, so please register early.

4:30-5:30 p.m. Tour of the Chicago Cultural Center

Chicago Cultural Center │ 77 East Randolph Street

Completed in 1897 as Chicago’s first central public library, the Cultural Center is home to two magnificent stained-glass domes, as well as free music, dance and theater events, films, lectures, art exhibitions and family events. Please join us for a docent-led tour of this historic Chicago gem. Space is limited, so please register early.

4:30-6:00 p.m. Alumni Clerkship Reception

Alumni who have served in clerkships are invited to this special reception with current students who are interested in pursuing a clerkship experience. Light refreshments will be served. When registering, please indicate where and when you clerked.

Run for Laura 5K
39th Street Beach (1199 East Oakwood Boulevard)

The Run for Laura 5K is a 5K run/walk in memory of Laura LaPlante, University of Chicago Law student '14, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver just before her graduation. More details about the race, including links to register as a runner or volunteer, can be found at The money raised from registration fees will be donated to the University of New Hampshire Cross Country Book Scholarship Fund established in Laura’s memory.

Shuttles will be available from the 39th Street Beach (1199 East Oakwood Boulevard) parking lot to the Law School at 10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.

The Saturday morning and afternoon events below take place at the Law School, 1111 East 60th Street. Parking will be available in the lot behind the Law School.

For those who are staying downtown, complimentary shuttle transportation is available. Please board the shuttles in front of the Gleacher Center. Law School staff will be on-hand to provide directions and answer questions.

Dean Schill will share an update and news from the Law School, followed by Q&A with alumni, during this informal session.

A Conversation with Amy Klobuchar, ’85

Please join us for a conversation with Amy Klobuchar, United States Senator from the State of Minnesota, and Geoffrey Stone, ’71, Edward H. Levi Distinguished Service Professor of Law.

Hosted by the University of Chicago Law School OutLaw Student Board, this luncheon will bring together current students & LGBTQ and allied alumni for a special lunch in celebration of the chapter’s 30th anniversary.

Often seen as the highlight of the weekend, the traditional Saturday evening Class Dinners provide a wonderful opportunity to reminisce and reconnect with classmates. The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 7:00 p.m., followed by a three-course dinner at 8:00 p.m.
