Admissions Process
What are the JD program deadlines?  We have two deadlines for applying to the Law School.  December 1 is the Early Decision deadline; your file must be complete by that date to qualify for our binding early decision program. The Regular Admission deadline is February 1.

Does Chicago have rolling admissions?
Yes, we review files in the order they are completed and begin accepting regular decision applicants in late January/early February.

How many people apply?  We received approximately 5,100 applications last year for our class of approximately 190.

How do I submit my application?  We accept applications using the LSDAS Electronic Application.

Where is the "Certification Letter"?  The certification letter for the LSDAS Electronic Application prints out once you have completed your online application. You cannot submit your information to LSAC without printing it. You must print the certification letter at the end of the online application, as it contains personalized information from the applicaiton.

When will I receive a decision?  Typically, it takes eight to ten weeks after your file is completed.

Do you grant interviews?   We offer interviews for certain candidates after their file has been reviewed.  We also may request that applicants submit an additional writing sample as part of their application.  Requests for interviews will not be granted.

Do you grant fee waivers?  If you have been granted a fee waiver from LSAC, we will automatically waive our application fee.
