Organization's mission: 

CDEL operates eight community Clinics throughout Cook County.  The Clinics are designed to allow low-income seniors and people with disabilities the opportunity to access CDEL’s services in a more convenient setting.  CDEL offers free legal services for a variety of legal issues, including simple estate planning, powers of attorney, uncontested divorces, consumer fraud, collections defense, guardianship, real property and landlord/tenant.  

At the Clinics, volunteer attorneys and law students perform intake interviews, document review, and direct legal service.

Heartland Human Care Services, 1709 East 53rd Street

Estimated time necessary for completion of project: 

This clinic is held the 1st Monday of each month from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Number of students needed: 

1-2 students each month.

Qualifications needed for this project, if any: 

Open to 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls.  Interested students will need to attend a short training session.  Training hours will count towards your Pro Bono Pledge.
