Paul A. Jones '85 Joins Michael Best's Venture Best and Intellectual Property Groups

Paul A. Jones joins Michael Best's Business and Venture BestSM Practices.

Jones has extensive experience with early stage information technology and life science-based start ups and venture capital investments. Jones began his legal career in Silicon Valley in 1985, before moving to North Carolina's Research Triangle Park region in 1990, where in addition to practicing law, he was a serial venture capital-backed entrepreneur and angel investor, and later general partner of a $26 million early stage venture capital fund. Jones returned to Wisconsin in 2003 and has been active as a consultant and angel investor for Wisconsin-based technology ventures. In 2006, he co-founded the Council for Innovation, in which he is still active, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Propel Wisconsin Innovation. He is the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh College of Business.

Jones received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his MBA, with distinction, from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
