Mitchell Tanzman '84 Elected to Emory University Board of Trustees

Emory University's Board of Trustees has elected two new members: Emory alumnus and business executive Mitchell Tanzman; and alumna and business immigration attorney Deborah Marlowe. They are serving six-year appointments as alumni trustees.     

Mitchell Tanzman is a founding partner as well as co-chief executive officer and co-chief investment officer of Central Park Group in New York.  He has more than 20 years of experience in alternative investments.  

Prior to founding Central Park Group, Tanzman served as co-head of UBS Financial Services Alternative Investment Group. Before UBS, he worked at Oppenheimer & Co. and ultimately co-managed the firm's alternative investment department. He began his career at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as an attorney specializing in investment companies and advisory services.  

His involvement at Emory dates back to his years as an undergraduate.  He was managing editor and editor-in-chief of The Emory Wheel and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society and the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity.   

He has served as a member of the Emory Alumni Board and has worked on the university's annual fund.  Tanzman is a 1981 graduate of the Emory College of Arts and Sciences, and he earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
