Roshna Bala Keen
Roshna Bala Keen is an attorney at Loevy & Loevy, a Chicago-based civil rights litigation firm. Her practice focuses on representing wrongfully convicted individuals, as well as victims of police sexual assault, excessive force, and unlawful arrests. In addition, she litigates class actions on behalf of people housed in jails and prisons, challenging their unconstitutional conditions of confinement. Ms. Keen has tried numerous cases in federal and state court and has conducted criminal post-conviction proceedings in Illinois and Alabama, including evidentiary hearings.
Ms. Keen has long maintained an interest in animal welfare issues and provides pro bono legal assistance to the Animal Legal Defense Fund and Mercy for Animals. She is a member of the board of directors of First Defense Legal Aid. Prior to working at Loevy & Loevy, Ms. Keen was an attorney at Sidley Austin LLP and an assistant editor at Foreign Affiars Magazine, published by the Council on Foreign Relations. She received her AB from the University of Chicago and her JD from Northwestern University School of Law.
