Tasneem Goodman, JD ’02, Joins Akina as a New Partner

Akina Corp is pleased to announce that Tasneem Goodman, Esq. will join the firm as a new Partner, effective June 1, 2011. Tasneem has spent over ten years in the legal industry providing clients with excellent service, working with lawyers to grow their practices and helping firms make the most of their relationships with their clients, their attorneys and their recruits. In her role at Akina, Tasneem is committed to helping lawyers and firms realize greater success and satisfaction by serving their clients well, growing their businesses through authentic relationships and leading their organizations with a spirit of generosity.

Prior to joining Akina, Tasneem was a partner and the Director of Marketing at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP where she led the firm's marketing and business development team, overseeing all aspects of the firm's marketing, business development, client relations and public relations initiatives. Tasneem previously practiced law in the corporate department of Latham & Watkins LLP, where she represented publicly-traded and privately-held companies in mergers, acquisitions and securities offerings, and in the restructuring group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she represented corporate debtors in bankruptcy planning, negotiation and litigation. Before her career in law, Tasneem was an event planner in the University of Chicago's student life office.

Tasneem is the president-elect of the Legal Marketing Association's Midwest chapter. She also serves on the board of directors of Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth, a nonprofit organization that promotes mentoring relationships between adults and young people, and Latinos Progresando, a nonprofit organization that provides legal immigration services. Tasneem is an active alumna of the University of Chicago, volunteering for The College, The Law School and the Chicago Society.

Tasneem has spoken frequently on legal marketing and business development topics and has served as a source of commentary on these subjects to the media. She graduated from the University of Chicago Law School and earned her Bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of Chicago.
