Mark Nozette retired in 2015 as President, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Attorneys' Liability Assurance Society, Inc. (ALAS), a mutual insurance company owned by over 220 major law firms throughout the United States. Prior to joining ALAS in 1990, he practiced law in Washington, D.C., specializing in complex commercial litigation. He received his BA degree, magna cum laude, from Colgate University in 1971, where he also served on the Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2014, and was Chair of the Audit Committee. He received his JD from Cornell Law School in 1974, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell Law Review. From 1974 to 1976, he clerked for U.S. District Judge Joseph L. Tauro in Boston.
