To full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgendered people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
Volunteers work at the Legal Help Desk to provide information and assistance regarding discrimination related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and HIV status.
Students will be trained to assist callers on Lambda Legal’s Help Desk, a hotline for members of the community seeking assistance with legal matters related to issues of sexual orientation, gender identity and HIV status. Students will perform legal intake, evaluate requests for help and provide local resources and contact information for LGBT and HIV-friendly attorneys. Calls oftentimes require some legal research.

Time commitment of at least six months and a set weekly schedule of several hours per week.

Interest in and commitment to LGBT and HIV civil rights. Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, but not required.
