U Chicagoans Discuss the Credit Crisis, the Market, and Morals on Dutch TV

In January 2009, Dutch Television (VPRO) filmed a documentary at the University of Chicago Law School featuring our faculty and students debating the human and ethical issues emerging out of the current economic crisis. The program drew on the expertise of law and philosophy faculty and students from across campus, and includes insights from our own Douglas Baird, Todd Henderson, Brian Leiter, Martha Nussbaum, Eric Posner, and David Weisbach. Prominently featured are Chicago Law students Pier Petersen, Brett Reynolds, and Katy Welter. Law students Eric Gyasi, Gretchen Helfrich, Alex Kolod, Chris Trendler, and Ruben Rodrigues, and philosophy PhD candidates Dan Groll, Ryan Long, Micah Lott, and Dasha Polzik also participated in the conversation.

The program is primarily in English with Dutch subtitles, although it begins with a few minutes of mostly Dutch. To launch it, you may need to select the media player option that works with your system, listed to the right of the video.
