The University of Chicago School of Law’s Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship offers an advanced team of aspiring lawyers with varying business focus to support local entrepreneurs throughout the Chicago land area in cutting through said tape. The clinic – located at 6020 South University Avenue – hosted hireUP!, an all-day conference on Saturday, May 21 to explore the kind of legal issues related to growing a small business.

The event was to support and inspire entrepreneurs who are creating much-needed jobs in Chicago. Local entrepreneurs were provided with tools and resources necessary to navigate through the basic elements of hiring, while being provided with a thorough understanding of hiring strategies, legal requirements, and how to balance tight budgets.

Attendees walked away with specific steps they could take to ensure successful experiences as first-time employers.
