More than three hundred attendees packed Union League Club of Chicago for the Seventh Legal Legends Luncheon hosted by the Chicago Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society.  The Honorable Peter Flynn of the Circuit Court of Cook County served as the program's emcee.  Lambda Legal's Camilla Taylor became the fifth recipient of the Ruth Goldman Award, which honors a woman in the Chicago legal community who has made significant contributions to advance the status of women in the legal profession and the goals of the American Constitution Society.  Carol Brook of the Federal Defender Program, Scott Lassar of Sidley Austin LLP, Geoffrey Stone of the University of Chicago Law School, and the Honorable Mary Jane Theis of the Illinois Supreme Court were minted as Legal Legends.  They join a distinguished list of previous honorees that include former Illinois Comptroller Dawn Clark Netsch, former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission Newton N. Minow, and current Cook County Board President Toni R. Preckwinkle.  Former Acting U.S. Solicitor General, and current partner at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, Walter Dellinger gave a rousing keynote speech in which he addressed many of the seminal cases from the recently concluded Supreme Court term.
