The Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday in Alleyne v. United States. The case could overhaul mandatory minimum sentencing requirements. Alison Siegler of the University of Chicago’s Federal Criminal Justice Clinic was at the hearings and filed a brief with the court that was cited by the defense attorney in response to a question from Justice Kagan.
