1L Robert Catmull Awarded Diversity Scholarship by Chicago Law Firm

Butler Rubin Selects Robert Catmull as Its 2013 Diversity Scholar

The Chicago-based law firm Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP has awarded its annual diversity scholarship to University of Chicago Law School student Robert Catmull.  Catmull becomes the eighth recipient of Butler Rubin’s annual scholarship focused on fostering diversity in the legal profession.

Catmull is currently a first-year law student and expects to receive his law degree in 2015.  In addition to a $10,000 renewable scholarship for tuition and other expenses associated with law school, he will work as a 2013 summer associate at Butler Rubin.

“Robert is an exceptional diverse law student with a strong commitment to pro bono, which matches well with our goals as a law firm.  In reviewing his submission, we were impressed by his skills, work ethic and commitment to give back to the community,” said Julie Rodriguez Aldort, a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

A graduate of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Catmull received his bachelor’s degree in psychology summa cum laude and received several honors including Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key.  As a University of Chicago law student, he is a member of the Latino Law Students Association and serves as a mentor in the Neighbors Program and Chicago Careers in Law.
