Hiring for summer

Summer jobs in the IJ Clinic on Entrepreneurship, The Immigrant Children's Advocacy Project  and the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic 2008: This summer the I J Clinic on Entrepreneurship, The Immigrant Children's Advocacy Project, and the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic plan to hire a total of 14-16 law students to work in their various Clinics and Projects. The IJ Clinic, The Immigrant Children's Advocacy Project,  and the Mandel Clinic seek energetic, dedicated and motivated students for these positions.  Students selected for the summer program will be assigned to one Clinic/Project for the summer and will work on a variety of cases and other matters.

The summer program for the Clinics begins on Monday, June 16, 2008, which is the first Monday after the end of the school year. The summer program continues through Labor Day. Students are expected to work in the program for a total of  ten (10) weeks during this time period and will be compensated at a rate to be determined by each program (approximately $5,000 for the full 10 weeks).

Interested students should submit their resume and a short cover letter to Randall Schmidt in Room K 210 in the Kane Center.  In the cover letter, students should indicate their first two preferences for the Clinics/Projects they are interested in working with during the summer.  These Project/Clinic preferences may be used for purposes of scheduling interviews. Students are encouraged to review the materials on each Clinic's website for information about the IJ Clinic, The Immigrant Children's Advocacy Project and the various projects in the Mandel Clinic.  Resumes and cover letters will be accepted between January 3, 2008 and January 18, 2008.

Interviews will be conducted shortly thereafter and the first round of offers made before the end of the Winter Quarter.

If you have any questions, please feel free to see Elizabeth Milnikel, Room K 110, Maria Woltjen, Room K 212 or Randall Schmidt, Room K 210.
