Tammi Hill, ’12 (The Clinton Family Fund and Douglas G. Baird Scholar)

Without this scholarship, I would not have been able to attend the University of Chicago. Not only did your generosity allow me to attend my first-choice school, it has allowed me to do two things: take an unpaid summer internship, and participate in extracurricular activities of my choice, rather than finding paid positions.

My summer internship was my most valuable professional experience. My experience this summer showed me that I had picked the right school and career; I loved everything about patent law, and I was able to bring a law and economics perspective that even Federal Circuit law clerks hadn't been able to articulate. The extracurricular activities I have participated in have enriched my school experience beyond measure. When I leave this school, not only will I think like a U of C graduate, but I will be able to write, argue, and strategize like one. There are not words of gratitude sufficient to express how this scholarship has shaped my life at the Law School or my career following it. Thank you.
