Tara Thompson is a Staff Attorney with the Exoneration Project at the University of Chicago Law School. The Project represents individuals convicted of crimes of which they are innocent. In addition to her work with the Project, Tara is an associate at Loevy & Loevy, one of the largest private law firms in the Midwest devoted to civil rights work.
Tara graduated with honors from the Law School in 2003. Following law school Ms. Thompson worked as an associate in the litigation department of Mayer Brown's Chicago office. She left Mayer Brown in 2006 to clerk for Judge Elaine Bucklo of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. After completing her clerkship, Ms. Thompson joined Loevy & Loevy in 2007, and began teaching in the Exoneration Project in 2008.
