Michael Tankersley

Michael Tankersley is the Victor H. Kramer Fellow for 2011-2012. He is a senior staff attorney in the Bureau of Consumer Protection of the Federal Trade Commission. His practice involves administrative investigations and litigation directed at deceptive marketing claims, and practices that violate federal restrictions on telemarketing, Internet marketing and franchises. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, where he has taught seminars on consumer protection law and civil litigation. Prior to joining the Federal Trade Commission he practiced litigation at Public Citizen Litigation Group and Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., and served as law clerk to Judge Gerhard Gesell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
