Tim Stephenson
Tim Stephenson earned his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1990, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma (BA Journalism) in 1979, Phi Beta Kappa and University Scholar. Since 1989 he has worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, and currently heads Kirkland’s Corporate (U.S.) Labor and Employment practice group. The group’s practice broadly touches on virtually all federal and state labor and employment laws and issues, with particular focus on acquisition-related due diligence and risk assessment, bankruptcy planning and execution, traditional (union) labor counseling and litigation, executive compensation and contracts, federal and state discrimination counseling and litigation, and wage & hour and affirmative action compliance. Prior to law school, Tim was president of a regional sports broadcasting network in Oklahoma, and enjoyed an 11-year career as a college and professional sports play-by-play announcer.
