Alison Siegler graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in Humanities and received her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal and as Executive Editor of the Yale Journal of Law and the Humanities. She received an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. After clerking for U.S. District Judge Robert W. Gettleman in Chicago, Alison was a Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center’s Criminal Justice Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in D.C. Superior Court and supervised and taught third-year law students in the clinic. Since 2002, Alison has served as a staff attorney with the Federal Defender Program, representing indigent criminal defendants in federal district court and in the Seventh Circuit. Alison has taught Advanced Criminal Procedure at DePaul College of Law and has taught sentencing advocacy to federal criminal defense lawyers at numerous national seminars.
