Michael Y. Scudder, Jr. is a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. His practice focuses on white collar work and commercial litigation. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Scudder served in the White House as General Counsel of the National Security Council. He also previously served at the U.S. Department of Justice on a national security team in the office of the Deputy Attorney General and for four years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York. He is a former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy and to Judge Paul V. Niemeyer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Scudder was named one of Chicago’s best “40 under 40” lawyers by the Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs Emerging Leaders class of 2010. He is a recipient of the 2014 USDC Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service. Mr. Scudder is a Registered CPA.
