Ellis A. Regenbogen
Ellis A. Regenbogen has been a senior advisor to boards of directors, chief executive officers and other senior management for over 30 years. He is a recognized expert in corporate governance. He also has extensive experience with companies of various sizes, from small to Fortune 50, in strategic transactions and restructurings, complex legal and financial matters and executive compensation.
Mr. Regenbogen recently retired as a Vice President of USG Corporation under USG’s normal retirement policy. As USG’s Corporate Secretary since 2006, he had principal responsibility for matters involving governance and board affairs, and he headed the Corporate Section of the USG Law Department.
Prior to joining USG, Mr. Regenbogen had been an executive officer, general counsel and secretary of two other public companies. He previously practiced law, and was a partner at Jones Day Reavis & Pogue, specializing in corporate governance, finance, securities and mergers and acquisitions.
For the past six years, Mr. Regenbogen has been part of Practicing Law Institute faculties for programs on corporate governance and securities law issues and trends. In addition, he has chaired a panel on financial and accounting issues for in-house legal practitioners and has been a guest lecturer on corporate governance at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and the University of Chicago Law School.
Mr. Regenbogen currently serves as a director of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, is the chair of its finance committee and is a member of its executive committee. He is a past president, director and member of the executive committee of the USA Film Festival in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Regenbogen is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law (J.D. 1970) and Dartmouth College (A.B. 1967). He was born in New York City and currently lives in Chicago and Charleston, South Carolina.
