Rachael G. Pontikes is a partner in the trial practice group of Chicago office of Duane Morris LLP, where she specializes in high stakes and high profile litigation. As part of her practice, Ms. Pontikes brought civil actions for several girls who allege they were sexually exploited when featured in child pornography. Ms. Pontikes protected these plaintiffs’ right to proceed anonymously by appealing the trial court’s denial of their anonymity to the Eleventh Circuit. Ms. Pontikes was appointed to the executive committee of the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for women, where she co-founded the mentoring circles program, the largest mentoring program for women attorneys in Chicago. She is also active in civic and community activities, serving on the Lyric Opera Guild Board and the Board for the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, as a mentor for University of Chicago women law students, and as the pro bono coordinator for the Duane Morris Chicago office.
Ms. Pontikes received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University with honors in Philosophy and Italian Studies, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. She lives on the North Side of Chicago, with her husband Bob Keenan, and their cat Josie.
